Dana, Studio Owner & Founder

A graduate from Belmont University’s Master of Music program, Dana uses her Vocal Pedagogy degree to help singers understand the importance of vocal health in their singing careers. Using this approach, Dana guides her students to understand the voice on both an anatomical and artistic level so they can feel the most freedom and confidence when singing.

Dana has been teaching voice, guitar, and piano for over 10 years. She also offers in-studio recording consultation services. Her voice certifications include methods such as The Lovetri Method and The Blaylock Method; Dana remains an active member of voice teaching organizations such as NATS and PAVA. Outside of teaching, Dana performs locally, nationally, and has made appearances internationally in Sydney, Australia.

Hallie is a Nashville-based songwriter and seasoned vocal coach with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Belmont University. She specializes in helping students bridge the gap between technical skill and authentic storytelling, drawing on influences like Sara Bareilles and Taylor Swift. Whether teaching piano, voice, or songwriting, Hallie empowers her students to find their own unique voice with confidence and emotional clarity.

Spencer is a bilingual guitar teacher, vocal coach, and audio engineer. As a performer, Spencer has sung as a background vocalist for Carole King, released solo projects, and currently is the frontman for the Nashville-based band Pump Action.

Alexa

Alexa Margolius is a Nashville-based Voice, Piano, and Songwriting Coach dedicated to empowering students through music. She holds a B.A. in Commercial Music from Lipscomb University, where she specialized in Music Entrepreneurship, Jazz and Pop Theory, and the Business of Songwriting.

With a diverse teaching background that ranges from private instruction to leading Glee Clubs and bands, Alexa excels at helping students find their creative voice across multiple instruments. She is an active recording artist who releases music under the name Alexa Jourdyn and performs across the U.S., allowing her to bring real-world industry experience into every lesson. Known for her patient, student-first approach, Alexa is passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists.

Nick

Nick relocated to Nashville, TN in August 2021 to pursue graduate school at Belmont University as well as be a part of the rich, vibrant Nashville music community. During Nick’s three years in Nashville, he has regularly performed across a variety of settings, from a weekly cover gig at the 12/30 Club on Nashville’s Broadway, to a performance at Geodis Park with over 25,000 people in attendance. Nick graduated with a M.M. in Commercial Guitar from Belmont University in 2023.

Fun fact, Nick is a left-handed guitarist and hails from the “Rock n Roll Capital of the World,” Cleveland Ohio.

Piper

Piper Madison is a skilled professional vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter with over 10 years of experience performing a wide variety of genres including country, blues, pop, rock, and indie. The Centre College graduate has been featured in national television shows and music festivals, and has composed music for major tv networks (CBS, DreamWorks) and award-winning independent films. A Top-15 Billboard-charting artist, Piper has showcased her work at venues such as South by Southwest, the Bluebird Café, and Churchill Downs, and she is passionate about helping students of all levels build confidence, creativity, and connection through music.

Fun Fact: Piper has also dabbled in glassblowing, and composed an original music showcase choreographed to glass blown art for a one-of-a-kind collaborative performance.

Piper is great for all skill levels in voice, guitar, and songwriting and works especially well with kids!

Hallie

Hallie brings a unique blend of academic excellence and real-world artistry to The Song Spot. With a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and years of experience as a professional songwriter, she understands that great music requires both a strong technical foundation and emotional honesty. Her teaching philosophy centers on authenticity, helping students find their own unique voice while mastering the big dynamic shifts and nuanced phrasing that make a performance truly intimate. Hallie’s goal is to help every student perform with a balance of vulnerability and confidence.

As a songwriter who has penned hundreds of songs and collaborated with top producers in Nashville, Hallie is a passionate mentor for aspiring writers. She specializes in emotionally intelligent storytelling, teaching students how to turn personal experiences into direct, clever, and resonant lyrics. Heavily influenced by the storytelling of artists like Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, and Maggie Rogers, Hallie excels at helping students bridge the gap between “just playing notes” and truly expressing feelings that are hard to put into words. Her students don’t just learn how to play their instruments—they learn how to use them as tools for courage, perseverance, and genuine self-expression.

Spencer

Spencer is a bilingual guitar teacher, vocal coach, and audio engineer. Spencer also has an extensive career as a recording engineer and runs our studio’s recording department. A graduate of the Frost School of Music in Media Scoring and Production and a minor in Music Business, Spencer is a fabulous mentor for a singer-songwriter finding their unique sound. Spencer specializes in coaching singer-songwriters through the recording process as well as teaching in Spanish.

His clients describe him as a trusted collaborator who helps turn rough ideas into fully realized songs—adding clarity, depth, and “tasty” sonic details along the way. Whether you want to get a simple, professional demo recording of your song or create a one-of-a-kind record to share with the world, Alex can help you stay on track, think boldly, and make something you’re proud of.

Anne-Marie is our Lead Instructor at the Philadelphia location. She brings a vast knowledge of vocal health and commercial music genres to her lessons. From beginners just finding their voice to professionals looking to fine-tune their performances, Anne-Marie creates a welcoming environment to support every student. Garrett

Garrett is a guitarist, songwriter, and teacher from Birmingham, AL. He holds a degree in Music Technology from UAB, where he also spent time touring, teaching, and recording. Garrett has been writing songs since he was in middle school, and he’s been playing in bands as a lead guitarist since 2016. Since that time, he has released music with different projects spanning folk/indie genres as well as hard rock/psych rock. A seasoned performer, he’s been playing live since 2014 and touring since 2021. Since moving to town, he splits his time between teaching and playing in Nashville’s historic Broadway district.

Garrett specializes in helping students develop lead guitar playing at any skill level. He also loves helping students bridge the gap between technical ability and composition.
